Accelerated Chefs Apprenticeship

Launched on 30 May 2006 by the ACT Minister for Education and Tourism, the Accelerated Chef’s Apprenticeship will deliver fully qualified chefs into the industry in two years and help to alleviate the current chronic skill shortages in this area. Tourism & Hospitality Training Needs Analysis (ACT & Region)

After Stage 1 of this research project in late 2004, the THS (ACT & Region) Committee is now looking a commencing Stage 2 of this research to further investigate what the Tourism & Hospitality industries in the ACT & Region see as their current and future training needs. VET in Schools

The THS (ACT & Region) Committee is currently involved in developing a course, which will deliver VET qualifications in Hospitality to ACT Year 10 students. At the end of the course students that have achieved the required competencies will be given a Statement of Attainment toward a Certificate I in Hospitality. This is a nationally recognised qualification.
